“We’ve come a long way in a year,” said Grow Forest City Project Manager Pat Galasso, “and we plan on taking this to the next level.”
Galasso said the city’s tag line builds on two of Forest City strengths — its proximity to natural beauty and the friendliness of its people.
She said the city not only has the Winnebago River and a number of city parks but also is located near Pilot Knob State Park and Thorpe Park.
“This is a tight-knit community,” she said, “and you can depend on your friends for anything.”
Galasso said Grow Forest City has plenty of reasons to celebrate — pointing to the opening of three new businesses in the city’s downtown area and the expansion of two existing businesses.
In addition to the unveiling of the new logo, one that will be used by the city, the Chamber of Commerce and other local civic groups, Galasso also told residents that the city’s new Web site — www.cityofforestcity.com — is also up and running.
She said the city will soon have its logo, taglines and the Web address on all of its vehicles and that businesses can use the logo in a variety of ways — showing off slides of an “I’m a friend of Forest City” and “Proudly located in Forest City” that builds on the city’s new slogan.
